For nearly 40 years, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals and organisations within the NHS as a Registered Mental health Nurse.
This journey has instilled in me a deep passion for promoting well-being and creating supportive environments where people can thrive. As one colleague stated, my "commitment to patient care, particularly focusing on people with severe and enduring mental illness, being their voice and transforming services, has been truly amazing…few people have done more to breakdown mental health stigma, open doors to care and place people at the heart of services," and this principle guides my work at Mindful Growth Solutions.
I bring this passion and extensive experience, along with formal training to Masters level in leadership areas such as Coaching for Leaders, Authentic Leadership, and Leading Large Scale Change, to the business world, offering tailored training, mentoring, and support programs designed to improve workplace mental health.
My experience includes:
- Decades of direct patient care, providing a profound understanding of mental health challenges.
- Significant leadership experience in both clinical and non-clinical roles, enabling me to effectively guide and support organizations.
- A proven track record of mentoring staff and leading teams through successful change initiatives, including the development of new mental health teams and large-scale systems.
- Extensive experience facilitating team away days, training events, and meetings, creating engaging and productive experiences.
I empower businesses to prioritise mental wellbeing as a key driver of success. With 30 years of experience across diverse mental health settings, I possess a unique blend of clinical expertise, operational and strategic leadership, alongside proven success in quality improvement and transformation initiatives. I help organisations create thriving and productive work environments by providing customised solutions in consultation, coaching, and group facilitation.
My academic background includes an MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University, a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Mental Health, and a Dip HE in Mental Health Nursing. I am also a certified Change Management Practitioner and workplace learning facilitator, and I have extensive experience teaching conflict resolution.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, emphasising a holistic and sustainable approach to workplace wellbeing. I am passionate about empowering individuals and teams to achieve their full potential and am committed to continuous learning to stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field. This combination of experience provides me with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing organisations today.
My expertise:
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance employee mental health, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing.
- Coaching aspiring and existing leaders to cultivate a culture of psychological safety, build high-performing teams, and enhance their emotional intelligence.
- Guiding organizations through periods of change, ensuring smooth transitions, and maximizing employee engagement.
